Just the Girls

Meredith and I are taking a girls only vacation to visit Grandma Sue in Florida. She was a saint on the plane both on the way there and on the way home.

We passed part of the trip by each taking an ear piece to my iPod and dancing to the music.

We drove down to Naples on Wednesday to visit Mr. Tyrell and play on the beach. Unfortunately, Meredith didn't like the feel of the sand under her feet and refused to let us put her down. Regardless, the beach was beautiful.

Grandma and I decided Meredith was ready to be introduced to the potty. Here are pictures of her first time sitting on the potty. She seems to enjoy it, but hasn't quite figured out how to use it.

Meredith and I went swimming every day while staying at Grandma's. She loves the water and seems to learn something new every time she goes in the water.

Aunt Meg found this life jacket at a consignment sale and let us take it with us. By the end of our trip, Meredith was able to kick her legs and stay afloat in the water when she was wearing the life jacket.

Taking a break on the pool furniture.
Swimming is hard work!!

Meredith has learned to kick her legs like she's swimming.

Still working on learning how to blow bubbles in the water. Whenever she tries to imitate me, she ends up taking in a mouthful of water.

You can't go to Grandma's and not play golf.
Meredith is out on the grass trying out her new clubs.

"I think I saw my ball go this way."
"Just another day on the course."

On Friday we took a trip to Sanibel Island.
We had breakfast, checked out the beach and
took a driving tour of the island.

It was a beautiful day to be at the beach!!

Meredith was still refusing to walk on the sand. We figured out that she could manage the sand if we left her shoes on her. Once we got the shoes back on her, she was ready to explore the beach and water.

Here are just a few more random shots taken during our trip. Meredith and I had a great time in Florida and enjoyed having some time to relax and spend to with Grandma Sue.
